$25,000 donated to support healthy food access by HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital
HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital is proud to announce a $25,000 donation to In His Name Colleton to help combat food insecurity and expand access to fresh fruits and vegetables for local families.
“As healthcare professionals, we recognize that healthcare does not begin and end within our hospital walls,” said Missy Feather, chief nursing officer at HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital. “Health is shaped by the choices we make every day, by what we eat, how we move, and how we live in the community. That is why we believe healthier tomorrows begin outside of our facility. It begins with working tirelessly to eradicate food insecurities by providing healthy food options.”
The donation will fund a full year of fresh produce for families served by In His Name Colleton, helping ensure that children, parents, and neighbors have access to nutritious options that empower them to live stronger, healthier lives.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation from HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital. Their support allows us to provide healthier food options to the individuals and families we serve throughout the year,” said Amanda Herndon, executive director at In His Name Colleton. “This partnership helps us nourish both bodies and spirits in our community, and their investment in fresh, healthy food directly supports our mission to reduce hunger and improve well-being among Colleton County’s most vulnerable.”
The contribution is part of HCA Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to creating healthier tomorrows by supporting initiatives that extend care beyond hospital walls — into homes, schools, and communities.
