Pediatric care we offer

Our pediatric doctors, surgeons and medical staff believe that a family-centered approach to treating your child can make all the difference. We offer:

Pediatric emergency care

Our emergency nurses, pediatric support specialists and board-certified pediatric emergency physicians prioritize the health and safety of individuals in their care. As part of our pediatric emergency services, we provide a color-coded arm band system that corresponds to your child's weight and height. This allows physicians and nurses to access data that tells them how to mix medications and perform resuscitation measures more accurately if your child is picked up by ambulance.

When to seek pediatric emergency care

Children do not always know how to express that they aren't feeling well or that something is wrong. We recommend seeking emergency medical treatment for your child if you notice any of these symptoms:

  • Body part near an injured bone that is numb, tingling, weak, cold or pale
  • Coughing or throwing up blood
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Difficulty waking up
  • Fast heartbeat that doesn't slow down
  • Heavy bleeding or deep wound
  • High fever with headache and stiff neck
  • Rectal temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit in children less than two months old
  • Severe allergic reaction (shortness of breath, lip/oral swelling, persistent vomiting or altered mental status)
  • Sudden loss of sight, speech or movement
  • Vomiting followed by dry mouth, not crying tears, no urination in more than eight hours or acting very sleepy
